The Vision
#BetterAsIAm is an initiative spearheaded by the team at FASHOM APP, which aims to celebrate self love and body confidence in real people all around the world.
In January’16, we launched a social beauty experiment in India and the United States with a sole purpose to spread the message that “you are beautiful, just the way you are” in a simple yet significant manner.
Upon researching prevalent notions around beauty and it’s perception among women, we stumbled upon an interesting insight.
“When a woman looks in the mirror, she doesn’t see everything you see, she sees everything she’s not. ”
No matter, how a woman may look, there’s always at least one thing a woman would like to change about the way she looks. ALWAYS.
“ I wish my nose was a tad longer and just a bit thinner”
“ I wish my lips were bigger”
Doesn’t sound very strange now, does it?
Honestly, it’s quite natural and human to feel so. We’ve all been there (or maybe still are). And that was about to change.
As part of the #BetterAsIAm Beauty experiment, the FASHOM team went around asking a bunch of women about the one thing they’d probably like to change in the way they look. Needless to say, we were flooded with a ton of beauty requests!
We told these women that we could make their beauty wishes come true and they honestly won’t like it at all. Of course they didn’t believe us.
So we then set to work. We decided to show these women how these changes would look on them. Graphically that is! And , the results are just not what they expected!
